Tesla is losing it’s edge

Ford has launched a new subsidiary, Latitude AI, which will develop advanced driver assistance systems to enable semi-autonomous driving. Ford’s CEO Jim Farley said the goal of the new system is to allow drivers to take naps while driving, making the daily commute less stressful. While fully autonomous vehicles aren’t expected to be profitable anytime soon, the customer demand for semi-autonomous systems like BlueCruise is high. The new technology is still in the early stages and there’s no timeline for it to be offered to customers. The team working on Latitude AI includes hundreds of former employees from Argo AI, which was a joint venture between Ford and Volkswagen.
